Plane Transporting Pete Hegseth Required to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
An aircraft carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the plane's windshield, according to an official statement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.
"The jet touched down based on standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, such as Pete Hegseth, is unharmed," a press officer said in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a brief trip to Brussels when the incident occurred.
This incident is not the first time that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a top government figure has suffered technical problems.
Months ago, a US Air Force plane ferrying the US Secretary of State to Munich was forced to return to the US capital after experiencing a mechanical fault.
