British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities confirmed on late Wednesday. The athlete was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

Honoring the Deceased

The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
